It’s Friday. Eat cake.

Yesterday we celebrated my youngest daughter’s 4th birthday. She was determined to go to school and celebrate with her friends which left me at home to get ready for the birthday tea.

In the balmy Spring sunshine I made my miniature bunting and got decorating the red velvet cake from the book by Stacie Stewart, Stacie Bakes. I’ve made red velvet cake before and it’s not the easiest of recipes but this one by Stacie is really straight forward.Eat cake

This little four year old is all about pink and sparkles so it was only natural that her cake would be so.

The miniature bunting was so easy and I think really effective. Folding over strips of wrapping paper I cut the triangles and stuck them onto the twine with spray mount.

Sooo cute and the cake looks delicious. I have 3 boys so no girly parties for me :(

Thanks Faye. The cake tasted good, sadly it didn’t last long though! There is a part of me that loves having girls just as an excuse for all the girly crafts!
