Ladylike Lace. The casual way.

There has rarely been a day since my recent J.Crew trip that I haven’t donned at least one of my purchases. Whether it’s the aforementioned metallic heels or a simple tee, I have taken great pleasure in experimenting with the new additions to my wardrobe and seeing how I can work them into my existing outfits.

One of my favourite pieces that I’ve worn a couple of times is this navy lace skirt. I picked it up and put it back a few times before deciding on it and it’s now become a firm wardrobe staple. You know when you just get that feeling and you’re sooo pleased you bought it?!

JCREW lace skirt

I’ve never had a lace skirt but I really wanted to wear it in a way that was casual and dressed down. Being navy seemed a great first step towards doing this. Taking the formality of black away opened up more wardrobe opportunities. Besides that fact that black really doesn’t suit me! So what have I worn it with? Occasion One: The trusty denim shirt and Ash grey ankle boots. Occasion Two: Blue cashmere and black suede shoe-boots – a really easy way to pair navy and black.

Here’s a few other lace skirts I found that would look fab…

Ok, so this navy jacquard skirt from New Look isn’t technically lace but this it’s a great shape, colour and style and for £10 the effect would still be the same. The also do a black lace pencil skirt here (£19.99).
