The Scarf – Invest in one & tie it every which way.

If you have been following My Pollyanna for a while, you will know that I have a bit of a ‘thing’ for Audrey Hepburn (herein referred to affectionately as AH). I just love the way she carried off elegance and timeless style so effortlessly. A feat I endeavour to achieve!

Apart from being slightly intimidated by ‘high fashion’ it also doesn’t suit my lifestyle. So for me, fashion and style is about working out ways that I can stay current, look good and feel confident. I also like to buy pieces that will stay relevant and can be worked in different ways throughout the seasons and hopefully years – investment pieces.

Along with dark sunglasses, one of the accessories that AH refers to as an essential part of her wardrobe is The Scarf.

How to tie a Hermes scarf
Scarves are so versatile and in this ‘in-between’ season they provide an essential cover up without having to reach for the coat just yet.

A Hermes scarf is a true investment and with their classic equine patterns and vibrant colours they are sure to last forever. But there are some great high street versions too. Here is my pick…

The Silk Scarf - Audrey's Way

1. £29 Monsoon / 2. £28 Oasis / 3. £69.95 Barbour  / 4. Matthew Williamson / 5. £169 The Dressing Room

Just found your lovely blog and what a delectable post. I live part-time in Spain where woman use scarves a lot to accessorize.

Wow Vanessa – thank you SO much. What lovely comments. Women on the continent really know how to dress don’t they? I love the Spanish & Italian style and how effortlessly they seem to ‘throw’ an outfit together. Classic white shirts and great fitting trousers – lovely. And obviously a scarf!
