Style diary My Pollyanna

I’m on my third day of London day tripping today and as I get to dress in a way that is slightly different to my usual get-up I thought I’d diarise.

Day One, Busted Knees + Kimono

Everything here is old, which I love. I love to bring things out from the depths of the wardrobe and put them together and still feel up-to-date. The sign of a good buy too…Busted knees + kimono

From the top down…

Topshop kimono – I love this one from New Look and this one from ASOS.

Silk cami, from Winter Kate – lacey one here from Jigsaw in same dusky hue.

Old, battered and beloved Jbrand skinnies with busted knees through sheer love. Here’s some already done for you from H&M with frayed hems – love.

Sandals (equally as battered and loved), by Tory Burch. These are similar but take a look at the Tory Burch website anyway…it’s amazing stuff!

Be back later in the week,

L x

Coast yellow skirt

Yesterday was a very special Monday. A great day spent catching up with some of the loveliest friends that I have made through the blog and the wonderful world of digital media. Definitely more to be said on that another day…

But when mulling over what I was going to wear for the occasion my thought processes were mainly focussed on understated and elegant. But instead I went neon. Well it’s not everyday you get to have lunch at Lime Wood is it?

The skirt is (very) bright and it’s also quite full and heavy so to play it down I went for a plain white tee and espadrille wedges.

Coast yellow skirt

It’s in the Coast sale reduced from £75 to £45  so grab it now for the rest of the Summer and next year.

BUYING TIP : Sizing is small so I went up a size (12, 16 & 18 have sold out).

Would you go neon?!

Style Diary round up

Hello again! Thanks for stopping by. It’s been a while but today I’ve finally managed to get some order back and I can update this little neglected corner of my life, My Pollyanna. While I get on top of things and put some more content together, here is a little diary update of what I’ve been wearing.

Wedding outfit last weekend

Zara monochrom dress

{Monochrome dress, Zara / Necklace, Accessorize}

A lovely catch up with a friend I haven’t seen since we were teenagers.

Double denim Monday

{Chambray shirt, Barbour / Cropped jeans, Koral / Leopard pumps, Jimmy Choo / Bag, Prada}

We’ve had quite a lot going on lately at home and this day was spent doing errands between the school run.

Stripes, mint & gold

{Jumper, Vila / Jeans, 7 for all Mankind / Pumps, Prada}

Oh the J.Crew, Laura Fantacci event last Wednesday in London. A mad dash from the school run up to London but finally made it (very creased!). More to come on this event…

J.Crew Laura Fantacci

{Blouse, Zara / Jeans, Paige Denim / Bracelet, J.Crew}

My purchase from the J.Crew event, the Oui Mon Cheri sweater. Perfect laid back, easy wear.

Oui Mon Cheri

{Sweater, J.Crew / Jeans, MiH Jeans, Paris / Pumps, Zara}

Friday I’m running around again and opt for blues with a little floral splash.

Casual Friday

{Top, Mimi Noor / Jeans, MiH Jeans, Breathless / Pumps, French Sole}

So there we are, not the most fashion forward week but practical all the same.

My Pollyanna style diary

Last Thursday was a really exciting day for me, a last minute trip to London to the Donna Ida store in Belgravia…details on that little adventure coming up later this week. This is what I wore.

This outfit combines two of my wardrobe staples, my favourite summer tote, statement jewels and oversized shirt. I’d never put all these pieces together before so it was nice to feel like I was almost wearing something new.

My leopard pumps and (pretend!) leather skinnies are fundamental to my wardrobe; wardrobe heroes, staples…call them what you will, I couldn’t be without them. There’s nothing more satisfying than wearing the same things over again but re-working for a completely different look.

It was a warm sunny day though so pairing with the light weight, man-style shirt (regular shirt from H&M in two sizes larger than I would normally take) made the outfit light and breezy. I love the contrast of the loose cotton with skinny leathers too.

To pull it all together I wore the H&M statement necklace and gave my Smythson chameleon tote it’s first outing of the season.

Sunglasses, Chanel. Similar here/ Necklace, H&M / Shirt, H&M / Bag, Smythson (unfortunately not available in orange this year) / Skinny jeans, Oasis. Simliar here. / Shoes, Jimmy Choo

Enjoy the sunshine and have a good week!

Style Diary Spotlight Feature

Coming into the warmer months I’m going to be pulling these red chinos out more but back in March they had their first outing the Red/Gap event in London. The sun was shining, the temperature had risen and I was feeling brave!
