Style Diary Spotlight
Yesterday I had a touch of fashion madness in the midst of ordinary life with a fleeting visit to London to preview the MiH Jeans Autumn/Winter collection. As you can imagine, this called for an up in the style stakes. It’s nice to have these kind of occasions though, where you need to look slick and pulled together but not dressy and well, flouncy.
I’ve had a bit of a disorganised week and hadn’t thought through my outfit until the morning I was due to leave. There was a flicker of panic but sometimes I need this extra pressure to help me to pull something out the bag – being too organised is just a bit boring isn’t it?!
So when these occasions occur there are certain rules that I generally fall back on. Firstly, great basics. Outerwear and shoes will make or break the outfit. There are certain things in my wardrobe that I know work and that’s my Burberry trench and my leopard heels – fail safe.
Secondly, personality. I was instantly drawn to the yellow jumper mainly because of my blog post yesterday but also because I knew it would stand out again the muted tones of the trench and the shoes. The rolled-up skinny jeans are another wardrobe warrior that work hard for all eventualities.
